So on Friday we got a call that another place had opened up on base. It was a renovated 2 bedroom which was something that we were waiting for. We got to see it on Tuesday (because of the holiday on Monday) and we had to give them an answer the same day.
So we racked our brains trying to figure out if it's worth it or not. There was probably more cons and pros, but I'm getting to the point I want out of this house! Between my roommate using my kitchen stuff all the time and me having to clean it (because he never does), having his dogs chew up my stuff (haven't had to many incidents, but enough were I'm mad), the new girl friend and her 15 month old son and her small dog and have that on top of our roommates 2 other dogs who seem be here every weekend (though the son wasn't here last weekend but she was). Don't get me wrong I love kids, just not kids who are let loose in someone elses home and then moves stuff around and makes it near impossible to find.
Also the never ending list of stuff our roommate says he's going to do. The entire time we've lived here the living room has been two different colors because he is to lazy to get a ladder here to finish it. Also we kept talking about removing the carpet and then he finally gets it done after we wanted to start setting up for the baby so everything had to be moved off the floors. And now the floors don't look that great in the living room because his dogs and their muddy feet. Also if anything is to be done you have to be constantly reminding! Which is very annoying! Well one last thing. When we got our carpet redid we put all the pulled out carpet in the back of his pick up truck. It sat in the drive way sooo long that someone reported it as an eye sore and he had to be move it before it got fined. So instead of taking care of it he shoved the truck in the garage and now we can't do anything with our stuff out there because our stuff is piled so high and there's a truck in there. How dumb is that! Oy!
So I'm happy to move into the new place. Granted it might have been better to wait, but I'm happy to get out of here and to have my own space again. David will finally be set up in his own room (which the girlfriend's kid was taking it). So wish us luck with the new place. It'll be nice to live so close to a safe park on base and to people I know.

Ok I really need help/comments on this one!
Nipple vs. Pacifier
So David doesn't really like pacifiers. He'll take one very seldom and when he does it's for a really short time. So I'm wondering if I should buy more pacifiers to see if I can find one that he likes or to simply just say "I'm done" and leave it the way it is. He was given two different pacifiers in the hospital (I'm guessing because he didn't really like either) and we were given about 3 or 4 different kinds as shower presents and he doesn't like any of them. He'll take a soothie the most and that's like maybe once out of 10 to 15 tries.
The pros with pacifiers is that he can have something to suck on besides my nipple all the time (which I know sometimes I have to offer him it sometimes even though I know he isn't hungry and just wants to fullfil the need to suck). I guess it's just the late night fussiness that gets to me and it would be so easy to just give him a pacifier and put him back to bed, but I can't do that.
So my question is do you keep looking at different pacifiers or just accept your going to have a boob man? LOL! Plus he doesn't really have the hang of sucking on his hand or anything for comfort yet so somethings it's really long and hard to get him to be ok.

David is a month old!
So I don't have the energy to post a photo or two of David, but maybe I can do that later on. But on the 5th David turned a month old! He had a very interesting month in my book. We had my brother and his wife here for the birth. We had Joe's dad, brother, and niece and nephew here last weekend. We have survived his first cold, lots of sleepless nights, pee on the walls, poop on me and his changing table. We have done countless loads of clothes that were from being pooped on, peed on and puked on. We've had about 5 or 6 baths since his belly button fell off at 10 days old. We went to our first baby shower for a good friend of mine. We had made 3 trips to the grocery store and have had lots of take out food. We've eaten out at Logans and Ihop. We have had many hours of feeding and playing. Oh what a wonderful month that we have had. We also survived our first snow storm. It was last week Tuesday and base was closed for 2 days. Joe had off Monday to Wednesday and went back to work Thursday. It wasn't that bad of a storm, but since snow removal is almost non-existent around here is that made everything closed. We didn't go anywhere just enjoyed our time together safe and warm at home.
Funny thing with boys they seem to pee a lot on stuff. When we went to Logans David peed from their changing table on his diaper bag and on the floor. It was kind of impressive, but also stunk that he peed on his diaper bag, but at least it seems like it's water proof and didn't soak in at all. David pees about every other time in the bath tub where it shoot out of his tub and into the shower. Oh so fun. Love this little guy like no other.
It's funny how you hear other kids cry sometimes is like nails on a chalk board but when it's your own you can deal with it and just patiently talk to your child. I'm so happy. I need to either blog more or just write in a journal so I can remember this kind of stuff!

Boys sometimes will be dumb
So this is just going to be a rant just a warning. So I really like mine and Joe's roommate and I feel like we all have a very good working relationship going on here. But sometimes men of the world just drive me nuts. So Jeff just got his divorce finalized about a month and a half ago. The whole time we've known him he's been dating Brandi (who is a super nice girl) even though he was still married. So him and Brandi has been dating for about 10 months now and they seem to have a good relationship going on. But just the last week or so Jeff is talking about breaking up with Brandi because he doesn't want a serious relationship right now since he just got divorced.
Well with that said he's been dating this girl for about 10 months and he doesn't want it to get serious? Well isn't that something you figure out in the beginning? So I guess I don't get guys sometimes. So now he's been talking to this other girl who is a couple years younger and has a kid who is a year and a half old. She's been here the last day and she'll be leaving some time tomorrow. But I know he's not telling each other of them about the other one. So I think it's a little sneaky of him and don't get why you would leave one relationship to go into another one that will probably end up serious. Oh well. I think I'm done with my rant. I'm just happy that I met Joe so early in life so I didn't have to deal with dumb stuff like this in my life.

A week of emotions
So on the 5th David will be a month old! It's crazy how fast that time has passed by and how much David has changed. I love the little guy so much! We've had a roller coaster of emotions with lack of sleep and long nights since he's been born. He has already met an aunt and uncle and we have some of Joe's family on their way now from Wisconsin! So tomorrow David will be meeting his Grandpa John and Uncle Mike.
So yesterday the 2nd was my anniversary of losing Little Mac. I for some reason set up a reminder in my phone. I'm not sure why I would have wanted to remember the exact day a year ago, but maybe it's a good thing. I can't believe how far I have come since that time last year. I still miss my first baby, but value pregnancy that much more when you have such a bad experience.
We had a snow storm on Monday night and some schools has been closed every since. They even closed down the base for Tuesday and Wednesday so that was nice to have Joe here. Actually Joe lucked out since he didn't have to work Monday since they were closing down early because of the storm. So he had off Sunday through Wednesday. He's working tonight. I hope he stays warm because I think with the wind chill it's in the single digits or negatives. So I hope he does well and stays warm and doesn't get any sicker since he's been sick of almost a week now. :( First it was David and now it's Joe.
